As Western Australian’s premier journalism program, Curtin has the experience and industry connections to provide you with the best postgraduate experience in journalism. In this highly practical course you will learn research, investigative and interviewing skills for audio, video and text-based journalism, and use industry standard equipment and facilities. Subjects include video news, radio news, news writing, broadcast presentation, media law and ethics, entrepreneurial journalism and long form journalism. You’ll have the opportunity to practise your reporting skills by publishing your journalism on Curtin's student digital news site, Western Independent, and you will build a portfolio of your work. When you successfully complete this course, you can apply for entry to the Master of Journalism. You can also exit this course early at the graduate certificate level.
